About the Work
My practice is a dialogue between intuition and material. I mix hues by eye and let drips, blooms, and edge-softening washes remain—a lot of of motion and risk.
What I like about this piece:
This was the last of the "Tides" paintings that I did...I love the way the pigment clumped in different sections of the piece, and the yellow is the perfect warm gold I was after. The composition is dramatic. This is another painting that needs no frame, and looks great with the white-space and depth of the gallery canvas.
